Shawn Miehlke
Principal Email Shawn MiehlkeWow, I can't believe it has been 10 years since Highmark has opened its doors! Ten years ago, I started at Highmark as a Kindergarten teacher and spent six years in the classroom. It was a joy to teach those young students how to read, write, and get along each year. Those years will be some of my favorite memories here at Highmark. Then, three years ago, I was allowed the opportunity to become the assistant principal. It was a new and unique challenge I was excited about. I always wanted to take what I learned in the classroom and help spread that throughout the school. I was honored with the opportunity to become the Principal of Highmark this school year. I am incredibly grateful and appreciative of this moment! I am so thrilled to have the chance to impact so many students and families! I cannot wait to start on this journey! Thank you all for the support and love! It means the world to me!

Dan Valletta
Assistant Principal Email Dan VallettaMuch of my childhood was spent in Naperville, Illinois, and Pleasant View, Utah. As a child, I developed a love for the outdoors and the alluring Utah scenery. Fishing and golf were two activities that helped me to relax and enjoy the beauties of life.
After attaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Technical Sales, I entered the business world and managed accounts for Cisco Networking and Zions Bank. My pursuit of self-fulfillment and my need to contribute to society ultimately led me to a career in education. After attaining a 2nd Bachelor of Science degree, this time in Physical Education, I enjoyed ten years of teaching and coaching. Building relationships and helping students to reach their goals is what makes my job so fun. Holding an M.Ed in Health and Wellness Education, I am dedicated to the health and well-being of HighMark.
When I'm not at HighMark, I enjoy spending time with my family and supporting my kids in soccer, dance, and gymnastics. When I have time for myself, I enjoy playing disc golf with my friends and competing in local tournaments.
HighMark has become a special school for so many of us. I'm excited to once again be part of this community, and for the great things to come this year!
